“Botox” may be the most commonly used buzzword when it comes to cosmetic procedures. But what does Botox Cosmetic actually do? Make a frown as you read this, and feel how the muscle between your eyebrows pulls together, creating a frown line. Frown lines not only cause a person to look older, they create a look of anger on the face. When you frown, the tissue between your eyebrows gathers together in a fold. Over time, this fold can become more noticeable and permanent, even when the face is relaxed. With Botox, you can completely reverse the effects of this chronic furrow.
Botox treatments take only a few minutes, and you’ll see your beautiful results in just three to four days. This injectable treatment will last three to five months. While frown lines are the most commonly treated feature, some cosmetic surgeons use Botox to treat crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles, lip lines, and neck folds.
For an example of how dramatic your results from Botox can be, check out these before-and-after photos taken of one of our patients. With the photo on the left, you can see visible wrinkles and crow’s feet as a natural expression of aging. On the right photo, her lines are softened and smooth as a result of Botox.
