Fraxel

Fraxel is a non-ablative laser treatment that targets sun damage, pigmentation and surface scars, creating healthier, smoother skin. It can also help with actinic keratosis a skin condition associated with sun exposure.

Understanding Fraxel Dual Technology

We offer Fraxel Dual, 1550/1927. The numbers mean there are two wave lengths one reaching the epidermis and the other penetrates the dermal layers of the skin. The treatment can use only one wave length or both depending on what is being treated. Thulium is another term associated with the epidermal wave length 1927 targeting brown spots and actinic keratosis. Dual has the additional benefit of remodeling collagen and is beneficial for wrinkles, crows feet and the brow area.

How Does Fraxel Work?

Fraxel works by producing tiny columns deep in the skin called microthermal treatment zones. The surrounding skin is left intact promoting rapid healing. Once finished you look like you’ve had a sunburn, while underneath new healthy skin replace damaged skin cells.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

After a single treatment your skin will look younger and more even toned, reducing hyperpigmentation creating a smooth appearance. Fine lines and wrinkles also improve but can take 3 or more treatments. Treatment numbers do vary depending on what we are treating. Scars for instance will take more treatments than someone with mild pigmentation. This will be explained in your consultation.
